Troopers Probe Robbery with Shots Fired

– The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery after two
restaurant employees were robbed after closing a business.
Last
evening at approximately 9:10 pm, troopers responded to
El Paso Tienda Mexicana, located at 1426
Pulaski Hwy reference to a robbery investigation. Investigators
learned a 21 year old male and 21 year old female were closing the
business for the evening. While they were exiting out the rear door
of the business the victims were approached by two unknown suspects
with handguns.
One of the
suspects, armed with a handgun, grabbed the female victim and stole
her purse and the business drop bag containing a large sum of cash.
The second suspect, also armed with a gun, grabbed the male’s
belongings and ransacked through them.
The suspects
then fled westbound on foot through the rear parking lot and entered
a vehicle. The male victim attempted to chase the suspects. Once in
the front parking lot, while the male victim was chasing the
suspects, one of the suspects fired three shots in his
direction. The victim’s were not injured.
The vehicle
then fled eastbound on US 40. The first suspect is described as
a Hispanic male, 5'6”, heavy build, approximately 24-27 years of
age. The second suspect is described as white male, 6'00", thin
build, approximately 22 years of age. Both suspects were wearing
black long sleeve shirts, blue jeans and black bandannas over their
faces. The vehicle was described as a Blue Chevy (Geo) Tracker, 2
door, black soft top and unknown registration.
A search of the
area by troopers revealed three spent shell casings. Anyone with
information on this crime is urged to call investigators at Troop 2
