State Police Investigate Parking Lot Robbery at Delaware Park

Released Saturday, September 06, 2008

Stanton – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last evening at approximately 10:10 pm in the parking lot of Delaware Park.

Investigators learned a 51 year old female from Lititz, PA was robbed while getting into her vehicle in the Kirkwood Parking Lot. The victim walked from the casino, through the tunnel and into the Kirkwood Parking Lot at Delaware Park. She entered her vehicle when a white male wearing a long sleeve flannel shirt, thin build, goatee, sideburns - possibly in his twenties - came up behind her vehicle on the drivers side.

The suspect was armed with a knife and put the knife near the victim's face while the drivers side door was still open. He yelled several times " you don't want to die give me your money."  The victim handed him her purse containing over a large sum of cash and credit cards. The suspect then fled on foot in the same direction that he arrived running away from the casino. The victim was not injured.

Video surveillance is not available. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call investigators at Troop #2 at 834.2620 ext 4. Tips may also be forwarded to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-333 3 or on line at www.tipsubmit.com.
