Arrested in Stabbing

Bridgeville
– The Delaware State Police have arrested a 45-year-old Laurel woman
for Assault 2nd degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon
during the Commission of a Felony for her acts related to a stabbing
that occurred last evening in Bridgeville.
At
approximately 8:20 pm, troopers responded to the 49 year old
victim’s residence, located in the 20000 block of Booker T.
Washington Street in Bridgeville, after 911 was called. When
troopers arrived, they recovered the victims blood stained tee
shirt, shoes, and learned he had been stabbed. The victim was then
transported and admitted to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for non
life threatening injuries resulting from stab wounds to the back and
shoulder.
Investigators
learned the victim was involved in a verbal argument with his
girlfriend, Joyce A. Lingham, 45 of Laurel. During the argument, Ms.
Lingham stabbed the victim two times with a knife. Investigators
were able to locate a witness who informed police that Ms. Lignham
admitted that she stabbed the victim during the argument.
Ms. Lingham
turned herself in this morning at Troop 5 and was charged with the
aforementioned offenses. She was committed to the Sussex
Correctional Institute in lieu of a $7000.00 secured bond. |
