Two
Arrested after Undercover Drug Operation

Bridgeville – The
Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit, assisted by the DSP
Special Operations Response Team, DSP Sussex Governors Task Force,
Troop 5, Troop 4, Probation and Parole, and Dewey Beach PD executed
two search warrants on Jones Dogwood Drive off of Coverdale Road
east of Bridgeville.
These
search warrants were executed yesterday at approximately 1:45 pm as
a result of an undercover operation conducted by DSP on residents in
the 12000 block of Jones Dogwood Road. Troopers determined through
investigation, that one of the residents was being utilized by
narcotics street dealers to distribute crack cocaine.
During
the execution of the search warrant, Clydus A. Evans, 29 of Jones
Dogwood Road was standing on the property and fled on foot. He was
apprehended after a short foot pursuit. A search of his residence
resulted in the seizure of 4.7 grams of marijuana and drug
paraphernalia. He was arrested for Possession of Marijuana,
Maintaining a Dwelling, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and
Resisting arrest. He also was charged by the SPCA for numerous dog
violations. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in
lieu of a $16,000 cash bond.
During
the search of another residence on Jones Dogwood Road, Lashon M.
Cannon, 20 of Jones Dogwood Road was in possession of 1 gram of
crack cocaine, .5 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators learned Cannon had been selling crack cocaine from the
property. Mr. Cannon was arrested for Possession with Intent to
Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling, Possession of Marijuana,
and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was committed to the Sussex
Correctional Institute in lieu of a $16,000 cash bond. |
