Robbery and Drive-By Shooting in Long Neck

Released – Thursday, July 17, 2008

Long Neck - On Wednesday, July 16th at approximately 12:00 a.m., Troopers responded to the area of the 30,000 block of Sea Waye Lane in Rehoboth Shores, Millsboro for a report of a subject that had been shot.

Through the investigation, Troopers learned that a 17 year old male victim from Millsboro had been sitting out on his porch when he heard a “pop” noise. He felt pain in one of his legs and was helped into the house by family members who notified 911. The victim was transported to Beebe Hospital in Lewes where he underwent surgery for the gunshot wound. The vehicle could only be described as a four door light colored vehicle.

In a possibly related incident, occurring around 9:30 p.m., a 15 year old male victim from Millsboro was accosted by Tremayne R. Moorman, 21, of the 30,000 block of Sea Waye Lane, Millsboro and an unknown white male subject named “Tim”, who reportedly beat the juvenile up and took an undisclosed amount of money.  This incident occurred in the area of Long Neck Road between the developments of Bay City and Rehoboth Shores.

Detectives believe the shooting may have been in retaliation to the robbery and are still investigating both incidents.

Warrants have been obtained for Tremayne Moorman for Robbery Second Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. Both are felonies.

Anyone with information pertaining to these crimes is asked to call investigators at 302-856-5850 ext. 216 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
