Suspect(s): Michelle Truitt, 22, of Lewes, Delaware
Resume:
On April 4th 2009, Troopers responded to a trespassing complaint in
the Donovan Smith Mobile Home Park in Lewes.
When officers arrived they contacted a subject who advised he was
having an ongoing dispute with a neighbor identified as Michelle
Truitt. He said that he saw Michelle outside today and the two had
words. He advised he later left home for about 30-minutes, and when
he returned, his daughter said Michelle unlawfully entered their
home, cursed at them and was disorderly.
Troopers responded to Ms. Truitt’s home and took her into custody.
She was transported back to Troop 7 for processing. While the
investigating officer was completing the arrest warrant, Michelle
Truitt wiggled her way out of her handcuffs and tried to flee out of
the back door of the Troop. Instead of pressing an exit button,
Truitt activated a Troop alarm. She ran back to her seat and tried
put the handcuff back on… but it was too late. The gig was up.
Michelle Truitt was formally charged with Burglary (felony),
Attempted Escape (misdemeanor), Harassment (misdemeanor) and
Disorderly Conduct (misdemeanor). She was turned over to the
Department of Corrections in lieu of a $6,500.00 secured bond.
