Glasgow-
The
bicyclist injured in Friday night’s crash is identified as Mark D.
Schaumann, 50, of Elkton, Maryland. His last known condition was
listed as critical at Christiana Hospital.
This crash remains under investigation and no charges have been
filed.

April 04, 2009- Troopers Investigating Car vs. Bicycle Crash
Location

Route 40, just east of the Maryland line, Glasgow, Delaware, New
Castle County
Date and
Time of Occurrence:
Friday, April 3, 2009, approximately 8:00 p.m.
Resume:
Troopers responded to Route 40, just east of the Maryland line, last
evening for a report of a car vs. bicycle crash.
A 2008
Scion, operated by Marcelle A. Williams, 44, of Perryville,
Maryland, was traveling Route 40 westbound in the right lane. A
bicycle, operated by a 50-year-old Elkton, Maryland man was
traveling westbound Route 40 on the shoulder.
The
Scion drifted onto the shoulder and struck the bicyclist. This
impact ejected the Elkton man from his bike and onto the ground. He
was transported from the scene to Christiana Hospital where he was
last listed in critical condition.
Authorities are still attempting to contact the family of the
injured bicyclist. Once this is done, his name will be released.
This
crash remains under investigation and charges have not been filed as
of yet. Also, alcohol is not a factor.
Traffic was impacted for approximately two hours.
