Probe Carjacking at Brandywine Town Center

Wilmington
– The Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking that
occurred yesterday at approximately 4:00 pm in the parking lot of
the Brandywine Town Center located at 5410 Brandywine Parkway.
Troopers
learned a 20 year old Wilmington man and a 21 year old Wilmington
female (victims) were seated in the male’s 2001 gold Dodge Intrepid
in the parking lot. An unknown black male approached the pair from
the passenger side of the car and asked for a ride. The pair refused
to give the man a ride and he walked away.
Approximately 3
minutes later, the man returned to the vehicle with an accomplice
and demanded the pair give him the vehicle. The suspect did so while
holding his hand inside of his sweatshirt and pointing something at
the victims. The culprit implied he had a gun, although none was
observed.
The victims
concerned for their safety complied with the robbers demands and
exited the car. The two suspects then took possession of the car and
fled the area. The victims were not injured.
Both suspects
have been described as a black male’s, between 20 -24 years of age,
5’08” to 5’09”, 150 -160 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt’s,
dark colored blue jeans and a skull hat’s.
Currently, no video surveillance is
available. The registration on the stolen vehicle is Delaware
533031. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call
