Milford
– The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery and attack
of a 39 year old Milford woman that occurred last evening after the
woman returned home. Troopers responded to the residence on Chateau
Drive at 6:34 pm after the victim reported she was assaulted and
robbed by an unknown male subject.
The
investigation revealed the woman had just returned home when she
observed a small vehicle parked on the roadway in front of a
neighboring residence. This vehicle caught the attention of the
victim because she did not recognize it as one that belonged to
anyone in the neighborhood. Furthermore, she observed a subject
inside the car that appeared to be smoking a cigarette.
The victim
informed detectives she entered her driveway and exited her car when
she observed a subject running towards her from this suspicious
vehicle. The man, only described as approximately 6’ tall, wearing a
dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a thin build, then grabbed the
victim’s purse which contained her personal property. The victim
began to run away alongside the home when the suspect followed her
and eventually grabbed her placing her on the ground. A brief
struggle ensued when the victim was able to activate her car alarm
sounding the horn to the vehicle.
This act caused
the suspect to cease his assault and flee the area. As a result of
the attack the victim did sustain a fractured finger and was treated
and released from Milford Memorial Hospital. Currently, there is no
additional information on the suspect or the suspicious vehicle.
