Serial Robber, and his Cohort, Apprehended

Released- Friday, June 13, 2008

New Castle County- Between May 27th – June 10th, the State Police and the Wilmington Police had investigated four separate robberies in the Wilmington area.  The cases are as follows:

1) 7-Eleven, Edgemoor (4865 Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington) - 05-27-08

2) Clifton Liquors (304 Edgemoor Road, Wilmington) - 06-02-08

3) Lampost Liquors (1144 Christiana Road, Newark) - 06-06-08

4) Quaker Hill Liquors (701 North Washington Street, Wilmington) - 06-10-08

After the Clifton Liquor Store robbery, the Delaware State Police disseminated video of the suspects.  Tips came in to investigators that aided in identifying the potential suspects as Tanya Duker, 18, of West 6th Street in Wilmington and Andre Shaw, 22, also of West 6th Street.

Yesterday afternoon, the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and Wilmington Police Department SWAT team executed the search warrant at the West 6th Street address.  The search netted clothing utilized in all three pending State Police robberies, clearly linking the suspects to the crime.  An Airsoft pistol was also recovered.  In addition, two suspects Duker and Shaw were taken into custody.

Mr. Shaw was linked to the 7-Eleven robbery, Clifton Liquor Store robbery, Lampost Liquor Store robbery and the Quaker Hill Liquor Store robbery.  Duker was linked to the Clifton Liquor Store robbery and the Lampost Liquor Store robbery.

Andre Shaw was formally charged with seven counts of Robbery (felony), three counts of Conspiracy 2nd (felony), and a single count of Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony).  He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $206,000.00 secured bail.  He was also ordered to have no further contact with his co-conspirator Ms. Duker.

Tonya Duker was formally charged with three counts of Robbery (felony) and two counts of Conspiracy 2nd (felony).  She was committed to the Baylor Woman’s Correctional Institute in lieu of $79,000.00 bail.  She too was ordered not to have any contact with her co-conspirator Mr. Shaw.
