DSP News Release: Monday, March 30, 2009- State Police Probes 7-Eleven Robberies

Location of Incident:

  • 7-Eleven, 5601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware- occurred Sunday, March 29th, at approximately 5:00 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, 3700 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware- occurred Monday, March 30, 2009, at approximately 2:43 a.m.

Suspect(s)

  • First incident- black male, 25-30 years old, thin build, thin mustache, wearing dark clothing
  • Second incident- black male, 25-30 years old, thin build, clean shaven, unknown clothing description

Resume: State Police detectives are currently investigating a pair of 7-Eleven robberies which occurred along Kirkwood Highway in New Castle County.

In the first incident, a male suspect entered the business, armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk.  The clerk complied and the suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

In the second incident, a male subject entered the business; this time armed with a handgun and approached the counter.  The suspect demanded cash and the clerk complied.  The suspect was last seen running southbound on Duncan Road.

There is no surveillance video to disseminate at this time.

Authorities do not know as of yet if these incidents are connected.  Anyone with information pertaining to these two robberies is asked to call investigators at 302.834.2630 ext. 6.
