DSP News Release: Tuesday, March 24, 2009- Impaired Driver Also Charged with Weapon Offense

Location of Incident: Naamans Road, west of Hickman Road, Claymont, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Sunday, March 22, 2009, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Suspect(s): Jesse A. Seccia, 24, of Hessian Avenue in Verga, New Jersey

Resume: Shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 22nd, a Troop 1 patrol officer observed a black Infiniti sedan traveling westbound on Naamans Road, west of Hickman Road, which was failing to maintain its lane. 

A traffic stop ensued and the Trooper contacted the operator, and sole occupant in the car, Jesse Seccia.  Subsequent the Troopers contact with Mr. Seccia, a DUI investigation took place and Seccia was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. 

A search of Seccia’s Infiniti yielded a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun under the driver’s seat.  Seccia had no permit for this weapon and could no offer no real explanation for having it.

Mr. Seccia was transported back to Troop 1 where he was formally charged with the following offenses: DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane, No Proof of Insurance and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (felony).  Bail was set at $2,000.00 unsecured and Jesse was released from custody.
