DSP News Release: Saturday, March 14, 2009- Second Day in a Row, State Police Cruiser Involved in Traffic Crash

Location of Incident: Route 1 northbound, south of Bayview Road, Middletown, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Friday, March 13, 2009, at approximately 6:37 p.m.

Resume: For the second day in a row, a State Police Cruiser was involved in a traffic crash.

A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado (operated by a Magnolia, Delaware, man) was traveling northbound on Route 1 in the left lane.  The truck drifted into the right lane where it struck a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria (operated by a State Trooper). 

Neither party was injured and the damage was not significant. 

The operator of the truck reportedly fell asleep.  No citations were issued.
