DSP News Release: Tuesday, March 10, 2009- Stanton Liquor Store Robbery Probed

Location of Incident: Super Spirits, 512 Main Street, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, March 9th, 2009, at 8:40 p.m.

Suspect(s) Unknown black male; wearing a black winter jacket; black nylon "jogging" pants; a red handkerchief around his face; who appeared to be "heavy" and had a "very round face"

Resume: Yesterday evening, Troopers responded to the above location in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. 

When officers arrived on the scene they contacted a 37-year-old clerk. The clerk advised a male suspect entered the store through the front door and displayed a knife.  The robber demanded money while walking around the service counter and toward the cash register.  The clerk complied with the bandit’s demands and the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money. 

The clerk was not injured in this caper.
