DSP News Release: Friday, March 06, 2009- Wilmington Man Charged with Possessing Child Pornography

Location of Incident: 2600 block of Belaire Road, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

Date of Occurrence: Thursday, March 5, 2009

Suspect(s): William R. Panuski, 38, of the 2600 block of Belair Drive in Wilmington, Delaware

Resume: As a result of an undercover investigation, on March the 5th, members of the Child Predator Task Force, University of Delaware Police Dept., and DSP Troop 2 Major Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence located along the 2600 block of Belaire Road in Wilmington. 

When investigators arrived on the scene, they contacted resident William Panuski.  As a result of this investigation, six computers were removed from the residence and transported to troop 6 for a forensic preview.   During this preview, over 30 videos of child sexual exploitation were found on two of the seized hard drives. 

As a result of the efforts put forth in this case, Mr. Panuski was positively linked to the crime of Using a Computer to Depict a Child in a Prohibited Sex Act.  He was charged with twenty-nine counts of this offense. 

Upon arraignment, bail was set at $290,000 secured.  Mr. Panuski was transported to Howard Young Correctional Facility in default of this bond.
