DSP News Release: Friday, March 06, 2009- Victim Seriously Injured in Car Jacking

Location of Incident: Parking lot of the 7-Eleven, 100 Four Seasons Parkway, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday, March 5th, 2009, at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Suspect(s):  Three teens described only as two white males and one black male wearing bandannas which covered their faces

Resume:  Detectives from the State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating a car-jacking from last evening which occurred at the Four Seasons 7-Eleven.

In this case, a 55-year-old male victim was panhandling in the parking lot.  He was apparently intoxicated and staggering about.  Three male subjects approached the victim, assaulted him and took his 1999 red Dodge Ramp pick-up truck. 

The victim was seriously injured and suffered external and internal injures. He was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was admitted.  At one point, the victim’s condition took a downward turn and had to be resuscitated. 

The truck has not yet been recovered.  It has an extended cab and a tool box in the bed of the truck.  The tag number is Delaware C59944.  Anyone who should come across this vehicle is asked to call 911.  Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to call investigators at 302.834.2630 ext. 7
