Newark-
Detectives
from the Delaware State Police Robbery Squad have arrested Daniel J.
Russo, 23, of Capano Drive in Newark.
Russo was
identified as the Wawa robber after an anonymous tip was received by
a person who saw the released surveillance pictures in the local
media. He was arrested
yesterday, charged with 1 count of Robbery 2nd (felony)
and issued $1,000 cash bail. This subject posted bail and was
released from custody.

Sunday, February 8, 2009, 3:45 a.m.
Suspects:
White male, approximately 18
to 25 years of age, approximately 5’05’’ to 5’08’’, thin to average
build
Resume:
Early yesterday morning, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Troopers were
called to a strong arm robbery at the Wawa on Stanton-Ogletown
Road.
In this case,
a male suspect entered the store and approached the service
counter. When a store clerk opened the cash register door to
complete a sale, the suspect lunged over the countertop and reached
into the register drawer. The bandit grabbed an undisclosed amount
of money and fled from the store on foot.

information pertaining to this case, or the suspect’s identity,
