DSP News Release: Monday, February 02, 2009- Teen Robbed on East Lea Boulevard

Location of Incident: 300 block of East Lea Boulevard, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Sunday, January 1, 2009, approximately 5:00 p.m.

Suspect(s):  

·        Black male, 19 years old, 5’08, 150 pounds wearing a red outfit

·        Black male, 18 years old, 6’, 160 pound, wearing a black jacket and a scarf

Resume:  Yesterday afternoon, a 19-year-old male victim called the police to report a robbery. 

This victim advised Troopers that he was walking to bus stop from work. He said he usually gets the bus at Lea Blvd and N. Market Street, however, today he missed his bus.  While at the bus stop, two male suspects approached and told him that if he went further down Lea Blvd,  he could get another bus. 

As the victim started to walk further down Lea Boulevard, the suspects walked with him.  The suspects engaged the victim in some small talk and inquired as to where he worked and  lived.  When they got to the bus stop, the bandits began to assault him, at one point one of the suspects pistol whipped the victim.  The suspects took miscellaneous property from the victim and were last seen running towards Colony North Apartments.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
