DSP News Release: Sunday, February 01, 2009- Body of Male Subject Found Adjacent to I-95

Location of Incident:  I-95 southbound, between Churchmans Road and Route 1, on the right side of the roadway

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Sunday, February 01, 2009, approximately 2:41 p.m.

Resume:  At approximately 2:40 p.m. today a motorist was traveling I-95 southbound, just south of Churchmans Road, when she looked to the right side of the roadway and observed what she believed was a body. 

Troopers and emergency personnel arrived on the scene and located a deceased male subject in his 50’s.  The body has been turned over to the State Medical Examiners Office.  It is not yet known how long this subject has been deceased.

Preliminary reports indicate that no foul play is suspected.  It is also not believed that this subject was struck by a vehicle. 

No additional details are expected to be released today in reference to this case.  An autopsy will be performed.  Should any of the aforementioned facts change, an additional news release will be provided. 

The identity of the deceased subject is know.  His name will be released once notification of the next of kin has been made.
