Location of
Incident:
Ramada Inn, 260 Chapman Road, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time
of Occurrence:
Sunday, January 25, 2009, 11:00 a.m.
Suspect:
Ramon Quinn Ramirez, 46, of Brooklyn, New York
Resume:
Yesterday
morning, Troopers responded to the Ramada Inn on Chapman Road in
reference to a disorderly subject.
When officers
arrived on the scene, they observed the subject in question, Ramon
Ramirez, yelling profanities on the phone in the hotel lobby. He
was obviously intoxicated and agitated. This investigation revealed
Ramirez was dropped off by an unknown third party at this hotel.
Ramirez allegedly entered the lobby and approached the front desk.
He demanded the staff let him into a particular room so that he
could retrieve his things. The hotel staff could not find him in
the system as a registered guest and were unable to take Ramirez to
the room in question without the permission of the guest on file.
Ramirez became
angry. He threw a phone book at a female hotel clerk and rammed a
housekeeping cart into a wall- damaging same.
With Troopers on
the scene, Ramirez continued his unruly behavior. When officers
advised him that he was under arrest, he refused to go quietly and
resisted officers. Ramirez was finally handcuffed and transported
back to Troop 2. He was formally charged with the following
misdemeanor offenses: Offensive Touching, Resisting Arrest,
Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Criminal Mischief. He
was released on a $2,000.00 unsecured bond.
