Update #1- Suspect Turns Herself In

This is No Longer Victoria’s Secret- Employee Wanted in Felony Internal Theft

Released- Thursday, January 22, 2009

North Wilmington- Ms. Norma Johnson turned herself in to authorities this morning at Troop 1 in Penny Hill.  She was officially charged with a single count of felony Theft and released on a $2,000.00 unsecured bond. 

Ms. Johnson saw her picture in several local media outlets and elected to cooperate and respond to Troop 1 to answer to the charges.

DSP News Release:  Wednesday, January 21, 2009- This is No Longer Victoria’s Secret- Employee Wanted in Felony Internal Theft

Location of Incident: Victoria’s Secret, Concord Mall, 4737 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence:  September 30, 2007 – December 24, 2008

Suspects: Norma Johnson, 42, of North Harrison Street in Wilmington

Resume:  On January 5th of this year, Troopers were called to the Victoria’s Secret in the Concord Malll for a reported internal theft.

A regional loss prevention manager contacted DSP after his investigation connected a store employee- Norma Johnson- to over $9,400.00 in thefts of merchandise.  This investigation was launched when a tremendous amount of perfume and undergarments were found missing over a 14-month-long period.

The name of Norma Johnson surfaced as records checks determined she had violated various store policies.  Ms. Johnson ultimately cooperated with corporate investigators who ultimately terminated her employment. 

The fruits of this internal investigation were turned over to DSP Troopers who obtained an arrest warrant for Ms. Johnson charging her with felony Theft.  She has failed to turn herself in.
