DSP News Release: Monday, January 12, 2009- Traffic Stop Yield Stolen Checks and Credit Cards

Location of Incident: I-95 northbound at the Service Area, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Saturday, January 10th, 2009, 10:14 a.m.

Suspects:  

  • Enoch Ofori-Antwi, 18, of Lanham, Maryland
  • Baldwin N. Osuji, 20, of Lanham, Maryland

Resume: On Saturday, January 10th, a Troop 6 patrol officer was traveling northbound on I-95 in the area of the service area when he observed a 2008 Chrysler 300 sedan traveling at 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. 

A traffic stop ensued and the operator was identified as Enoch Ofori-Antwi.  The passenger was identified as Baldwin N. Osuji.  The Chrysler proved to be a rental car and neither Enoch nor Baldwin were permitted to be driving this car.   Furthermore, Baldwin provided the investigating officer with a false name. 

A search of the vehicle revealed stolen checks and credit cards. 

Enoch Ofori-Antwi was formally charged with Receiving Stolen Property (misdemeanor) and Speeding.

Baldwin Osuji was formally charged with Criminal Impersonation (misdemeanor) and Receiving Stolen Property (misdemeanor).

Bail information is not available.
