Passenger in Blazer Succumbs to Injuries

Newark-
On January 6, 2009, at approximately 8:00 p.m., injured
passenger Robert Sporay, 71, died from complications from the
injuries sustained in this collision. He was a passenger in the
Chevrolet Blazer operated by his wife Joanne Sporay. She too
died as a result of the injuries she sustained in this
incident.
This investigation is continuing.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009, 4:30 p.m.
Resume:
This past Saturday afternoon, Troopers responded to the intersection
of Route 4 and Salem Church Road for the report of a injury crash.
A 2003 Dodge
Dakota (operated by John Lloyd, 41, of Newark) was traveling
northbound on Salem Church Road and proceeded to cross Route 4.
A 1999
Chevrolet Blazer (operated by Joanne Sporay, 70, of Newark) was
traveling westbound on Route 4 approaching Salem Church Road.
The Dodge had
a green light and the Blazer a red.
Both vehicles
entered the intersection and collided.
Mr. Lloyd
sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from
Christiana Hospital. The front seat passenger in the Blazer, Robert
Sporay, 71, also of Newark, suffered several serious, but not life
threatening injuries in this crash. He was treated at Christiana
Hospital.
On Sunday
afternoon, approximately 24-hours after the collision, Ms. Sporay
died as a result of the injuries she sustained in this crash.
This
investigation is ongoing and no charges are expected to be filed.
