Robber Identified

Greenville-
The
suspect in yesterday’s bank robbery has now been identified as
John C. Mayhew, 41, of Wilmington. Mr. Mayhew was identified
after several tips were received this morning.
Warrants are
on file and detectives are actively seeking his whereabouts. Anyone
who may know where John Mayhew is should call investigators at
302.834.2630 ext. 6 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333.
Note of
caution: Mr. Mayhew should be considered armed and dangerous.

Suspect(s):
Light skinned black male, mid to late 20's, 6'00" tall, short hair,
wearing a bulky dark colored jacket with a tan fur liner on hood;
sweatshirt under jacket with a cartoon bull (multi colored), baggy
jeans with some type of identification or pass hanging from the left
front pocket, noticeable scar over left ear.

Earlier this afternoon, Troopers were called to the Wilmington
Trust in Greenville for the report of a bank robbery.
In this case,
a black male suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. He
presented a demand note and implied he had a weapon. The clerk
complied and the bandit fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of
cash.
The suspect
fled the scene in possibly a Chrysler Sebring four door.
