DSP News Release: Tuesday, January 06, 2009- Detectives Short on Leads in Assault Case

Location of Incident: 2600 Block of Capitol Trail in Newark, Delaware, New Castle County (area of Meadowood Drive)

Date and Time of Occurrence: December 9th, 2008, 9:40 p.m.

Suspects:  Unknown at this time

Resume: Last month, Troopers were dispatched to the area of Route 2, Capitol Trail, and Meadowood Drive, for the report of an injured subject.

In this case, a 43-year-old male victim was walking in the aforementioned area when he was pushed from behind by an unknown suspect(s).  The victim fell to the ground and stuck his head causing a skull fracture and other closed head injuries. 

To date, the victim is still admitted to Christiana Hospital. He is currently, and has been, unresponsive and not been able to be interviewed by detectives who are at a stalemate in their investigation.  There has not been a motive established for this crime. Also, nothing was stolen from the victim after he was pushed down.
