DSP News Release: Monday, September 28, 2009- Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins in North Wilmington… 30 + Victims So Far and Reports Still Coming

 

Location: Various Locations in North Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware

 

Date of Occurrence: Sunday, September 27th to Monday, September 28th

 

Suspect(s): Unknown at this time

 

Resume: The Delaware State Police and the New Castle County Police departments are currently working several incidents of thefts from motor vehicles from the North Wilmington area.

 

In these cases, car windows were smashed out and various items of value stolen from within.  Due to the similarities in these incidents, it is believed that they are connected.

 

The incidents are as follows:

  • Foreword Manor Nursing Home, 1912 Marsh Road, Wilmington, Delaware.  DSP case.  22 victims comprised of both employees and residents.
  • Sunrise Assisted Living Nursing Home, 2215 Shipley Road, Wilmington, Delaware. DSP case, 5 victims comprised of both employees and residents.
  • Brandywine Hundred Apartments, 400 Foulk Road, Wilmington, Delaware. Cases currently still being reported; number of victims to be determined.
  • Top of the Hill Apartments, 2101 Prior Road, Wilmington, Delaware. Cases currently still being reported; number of victims to be determined.
