DSP News Release: Thursday, September 10, 2009- Attempted Robbery Probed

 

Location: Citgo, 135 South DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 6:30 a.m.

 

Suspect(s): Unknown male suspect, 5’08” to 5’10” tall, 180 pounds with a bandanna on his head and a t-shirt pulled up covering his face.

 

Resume: On September the 9th, at approximately 6:33 a.m., Troopers responded to the Citgo Station, located at 135 South DuPont Highway, in reference to an attempted robbery. 

 

This investigation revealed that female clerk was completing inventories in the stock room when an unknown suspect entered the business.  The victim walked back towards the register when she observed the suspect behind the counter attempting to open the register.  The suspect stated, ‘’Back up, I have a gun.’’ 

 

The clerk ran back to the stock room and hid until the suspect left.  A check of the inventory revealed the suspect did not take anything.
