DSP News Release: Wednesday, September 09, 2009- Robbers Resort to Taking an Item Usually Left Alone- a Victim’s Wedding Ring

 

Location: 4200 block of Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time: Tuesday, September 8th, 2009, at approximately 5:30 p.m.

 

Suspect(s): Black male, wearing a baseball cap with a star on it and a light colored short sleeve shirt. 

 

Resume: Robbers in this day and age seem to take anything… money, cigarettes, cell phones, and in this case, even a man’s wedding ring.

 

Yesterday evening, officers from Troop 1 Penny Hill were assigned to handle a robbery complaint which took place along the 4200 block of Philadelphia Pike.   The victim was walking southbound along the roadway when a black Acura pulled up along side of him and the driver asked him for directions.

 

The front seat passenger of the Acura displayed a black handgun and demanded the victim’s wedding ring, wallet and cell phone.   The victim complied and the bandits drove off.  The victim only remembers seeing a Delaware registration plate on the suspect vehicle.
