DSP News Release: Wednesday, October 28, 2009- Another Morning Robbery Report
Location: Wawa, 531 East Basin Road, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at 3:15 a.m.
Suspect(s): Black male, about 20 years old, 160 – 170 pounds, black hooded sweatshirt, jeans with a cloth covering his face. This subject was armed with a handgun.
Resume: Just a short time ago, the DSP Public Information Office issued a news release about the robbery of a 7-Eleven in north Wilmington on Governor Printz Boulevard.
About an hour prior to that robbery, at 3:15 a.m., another robbery was reported at the Wawa on East Basin Road. The suspect description is both cases are similar; however, it is unknown at this time if the two capers are in fact related.
So, at the aforementioned time, a black male suspect armed with a handgun, entered the Wawa on East Basin Road and approached the service counter. He demanded cash and the clerks complied. The suspect fled the business toward the William Penn Village Apartments.
There is no surveillance video available at this time.
