Updated DSP News Release: Wednesday, October 21, 2009- Traffic Alert on I-295
New Castle- The dump truck involved in this morning’s crash was a 1987 Ford, operated by Mark Baranowski, 45, of Middletown, Delaware.
The truck was traveling eastbound on I-295 in left lane. The road surface was angled in this area, which is under construction, and as the truck traveled over the angled surface, the load in the back shifted causing the truck to overturn.
The truck was hauling concrete which spilled onto the roadway. Traffic was impacted for over two hours.
The driver was not cited nor was he injured.

Location: I-295 eastbound just east of the I-95 northbound split
Date and Time: Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at approximately 8:50 a.m.
Resume: State Troopers are currently on the scene of an overturned dump truck on eastbound I-295, just east of the I-95 northbound split.
Injuries are unknown; however, the impact on traffic is significant. Motorists should seek alternative routes.
