DSP News Release: Wednesday, October 21, 2009- Graffiti Suspects Caught Shoplifting Spray Paint 

 

Location: Walmart, 1251 Centerville Rd Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time: Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 7:41 p.m.

 

Suspect(s):   

  • Keanan Connell, 19, of Franklin Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Joseph T. Pawley, 19, of Dorcaster Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware

 

Resume: Last evening, Troopers were called to the Walmart on Centerville Road for a shoplifting case.  When officers arrived on the scene they met with loss prevention officials who provided the following account. 

 

At approximately 7:41 p.m. Keanan Connell, and his associate Joseph Pawley, were observed in the paint department.  The subjects were observed concealing spray paint cans in their pants.  The two subjects tried then to leave the store without paying, however, they were apprehended with the stolen goods. 

 

Troopers took the two subjects into custody and transported them back to Troop 6 for processing.  A search was also conducted of Pawley's vehicle, and 39 cans of spray paint, 5 paint pens, and numerous illegible drawings were found. 

 

They were both charged with the following misdemeanor offenses: Shoplifting, Conspiracy 3rd and Possession of Graffiti Implements.  Bail was set at $1,100.00 unsecured and the suspects were released.
