DSP News Release: Thursday, October 15, 2009- Armed Robbery Investigated in New Castle
Location: Cumberland Farms, 752 West Basin Road, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Suspect(s): Black male, light skin, 25 - 35 years old, 5'5" - 5'7", 180 - 200 lbs, wearing a black hooded shirt, black pants, with a cloth covering his face
Resume: Troopers responded to an armed robber last night at the Cumberland Farms on Basin Road.
At about 11:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the Cumberland Farms located at 752 W. Basin Road in reference a robbery. In this case, a black male suspect entered the business displaying a black hand gun. He approached the clerk and demanded cash. The clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of money and the bandit fled the business. He was last seen running from the scene towards Chelsea Estates.
The clerk was not injured. No surveillance video is available at this time.
