DSP News Release: Tuesday, October 13, 2009- Gas Station Robbery Probed
Location: Exxon, 4600 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 5:00 a.m.
Suspect(s): White male, white shirt, pants, and a shirt covering his face.
Resume: Earlier this morning, Troopers responded to the Exxon Gas Station on Route 4 for an armed robbery.
This investigation revealed the store clerk was in the back preparing for the day when he heard the front door chime-letting him know someone had just come inside.
The clerk walked to the front to help the supposed customer when he instead was confronted by a white male subject with a shirt over his face. The suspect was armed with a handgun and he demanded cash. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. The bandit ordered the clerk to the ground and he then fled the scene.
