DSP News Release: Monday, October 12, 2009- Subject Burglarizes One Closed Business to get to Connected Open Business, Robs Clerk

 

Location:

  • AMG Auto, 208 South Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware
  • Shell Gas Station, 208 South Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware

 

Date and Time:  Friday, October 9th, 2009, at 9:00 p.m.

 

Suspect(s): Unknown male, 5’07” to 5’09”, 160 – 175 pounds, average build, face covered, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves.  This subject had a high pitched voice.

 

Resume: Troopers are investigating a robbery / burglary which occurred Friday night on South Maryland Avenue in Wilmington. 

 

This investigation revealed a male suspect broke into AMG Automotive, which was closed, via a glass window.  Once inside, the suspect made his way over to the connected gas station- Shell- where he surprised and confronted the clerk.

 

The suspect was in possession of a knife and demanded money.  The clerk complied by telling the bandit to take the money. As the robber was collecting the cash, the clerk ran to a business across the street to call 911. 

 

Surveillance video is being reviewed to determine if it captured the incident.
