DSP News Release: Thursday, November 12, 2009- Two 7-Elevens Robbed by same Suspect

 

Location

  • 7-Eleven, 11 Red Mill Road, Newark, Delaware. 10:00 p.m.
  • 7-Eleven, 5601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware. 10:52 p.m.

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

 

Suspect(s): Black male, 6’05”, 250 pounds, wearing a black jacket, black hat, jeans and boots, armed with a handgun.      

 

Resume: Detectives from the Delaware State Police are investigating two seemingly related robberies from last night.  Both occurred along the Route 2 corridor. 

 

The first incident took place at the Red Mill Road 7-Eleven, which is located adjacent to Capitol Trail (Route 2), at 10:00 p.m.  In this case, the suspect described above entered the store and approached the service counter.  The suspect grabbed the clerk by the shirt and displayed a handgun.  The bandit demanded cash and the clerk complied.  The suspect then fled the scene.

 

About an hour later, the next robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven on Route 2 at Milltown Road.  In this incident, the suspect, who again is described above, entered the store and walked behind the service counter.  The clerk, who became fearful, ran away to the manager’s office while the suspect grabbed money from the cash register.  The suspect fled the scene.

 

Surveillance video is currently being reviewed and it is not yet available.
