Update #1 DSP News Release: Monday, November 09, 2009- Fatal Crash on Route 273
Newark- Route 273 is now open in both directions. A more complete news release will be forthcoming later this evening when the final details are made available by investigators.

Preliminary DSP News Release: Monday, November 09, 2009- Fatal Crash on Route 273
Location: Route 273 eastbound, at West Main Street, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County (in front of the Christiana Town Center)
Date of Occurrence: Monday, November 09, 2009, at approximately 4:50 p.m.
Resume: Investigators from the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are currently on the scene of a fatal crash on Route 273 in Newark.
The scene is located on Route 273 eastbound in front of the Christiana Town Center at West Main Street.
Preliminary reports from the scene indicate this crash involves a vehicle and a bicyclist. The bicyclist, a male subject, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A more complete release will be provided later this evening once details are known and confirmed.
Motorists should expect delays.
