DSP News Release: Thursday, November 5th, 2009 - DSP Investigating a Robbery with a Shot Fired

 

Location: Riverview Motel, 7811 Governor’s Printz Blvd., Claymont

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 11:37 pm

 

Suspect(s): Unknown black male suspect, 5’6-5’10, thin build, wearing dark colored clothing and face concealed

 

Resume:

 

On Wednesday, November 4th, 2009, Delaware State Police were summoned to the Riverview Motel, located at 7811 Governor’s Printz Boulevard, Claymont, by the front desk clerk reference to an attempted robbery.

 

The investigation revealed that the clerk was seated in a secure area of the front desk.  An unknown black male suspect entered the business and displayed a handgun.  The suspect attempted to forcibly gain entry into the secure area where the clerk was seated at which time she picked up the phone to call 911.  As the clerk picked up the phone, the suspect fired one round through the glass door in the direction of the employee. 

 

The employee was not injured.

 

Delaware State Troopers checked the area and conducted a K9 search and were unable to locate the suspect.
