Resume: We have seen this type of crime before, but it has been quite some time since it reared its ugly head.  Once again, DSP is investigating a case of a theft against an elderly female.  This time the victim is 83.

On Monday evening, Troopers were dispatched to the Shoprite located in the First State Plaza Shopping Center for the report of a theft of a purse. In this case, the victim was shopping alone when she was approached by a male suspect. This individual engaged the victim in a conversation, and while she was distracted, the second suspect, a white female, approached the victim from behind and stole her purse.  The female suspect concealed the purse underneath her sweatshirt and the two suspects then fled the scene.

Surveillance video images have been included in this release.  Anyone who may know these subjects, who preyed on this elderly victim, is asked to call authorities at 302-633-5000 ext. 607 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
