DSP News Release: Tuesday, May 05, 2009- Subject Charged with Felony Criminal Mischief / DUI Following Point to Point Festivities

 

Location of Incident: Winterthur, 1505 Kennett Pike, Winterthur, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Sunday, May 3, 2009, at approximately 3:05 p.m.

 

Suspect(s): Ryan Gallo, 31, of Hockessin, Delaware 

 

Resume:  On Sunday, May 3rd, several Troopers were assigned to the Point to Point event at Winterthur to provide security.  At about 4:30 p.m., a report came in to officers advising a subject operating a Ford pick-up truck, with massive tires and a lift kit, was turfing the fields and the horse track.  As the tires were spinning, mud was also being thrown on other attendees.  

 

Troopers converged on the area and apprehended Mr. Ryan Gallo as he was driving through gate #3.  He was found to have been driving while impaired and the damaged to the grounds was estimated between $3,000 and $5,000. 

 

Mr. Gallo was transported back to Troop 1 where he was formally charged with DUI, Malicious Mischief by Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief (felony). 

 

Bail was set at $1,000.00 unsecured and Ryan was released from custody.
