DSP News Release: Wednesday, May 27, 2009- Narcotics Investigation Wraps Up in Newark
Location of Incident: (New Castle County)
Date and Time of Occurrence: May 19th, 2009, at approximately 1:15 a.m.

Resume: Detectives from the Governors Task Force (Delaware State Troopers and Probation and Parole Officers) have concluded an investigation involving Eliezer Ongay and Rene Quiles.
This case originated on May 19th when unit members were at an unspecified location in Newark. Detectives observed the strong odor of marijuana coming from this location and they subsequently made entry.
Once inside, investigators confronted both Quiles and Ongay. These two subjects were actively attempting to hide marijuana at various locations throughout this location after clogging the toilet with marijuana they were trying to flush down the toilet.
Officers seized approximately 300 grams of marijuana in the room and associated paraphernalia. Next, officers conducted a search warrant at the residence of Rene Quiles. There, they located 4.8 grams of cocaine packaged for sale in Quiles’ bedroom.
Eliezer Ongay was charged with the following offenses: Possession with the Intent to Deliver Narcotics (felony), Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping Narcotics (felony), Tampering with Evidence (felony), Conspiracy 2nd (felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor). He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of a $3,000 unsecured bond and a $2,000.00 secured bond. The following day, May 20th, he was charged with Violation of Probation and issued an additional $20,000.00 secured bond.
Rene Quiles was charged with the following offenses: two counts of Possession with the Intent to Deliver Narcotics (felony), two counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping Narcotics (felony), Tampering with Evidence (felony), Conspiracy 2nd (felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor). He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of a $14,500 unsecured bond and a $2,000.00 secured bond. The following day, May 20th, he was charged with Violation of Probation and issued an additional $20,000.00 secured bond.
