DSP News Release: Tuesday, June 30, 2009- Hotel Employees Charged with Stealing LCD Televisions
Location of Incident: Christiana Hilton, 100 Continental Drive, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, June 22, 2009, at approximately 8:00 a.m.
Suspect(s):
Resume: Yesterday, State Troopers from Troop 6 responded to the Christiana Hilton, and after and initial investigation, arrested two employees for stealing two LCD flat screen TV’s on June 22nd and 25th of this year.
This investigation came to light when a hotel employee contacted his manager and advised the hotel was missing two LCD TV’s from storage. A check of the hotel’s surveillance system revealed employees Andre Clark and Freddie Wright had stolen the TV’s. The total amount of loss was $2,200.00.
With the evidence in hand, the two suspects, who were still on the property working, were summonsed to the manager’s office where they were taken into custody. Arrest warrants were then completed and yesterday afternoon, both suspects were formally charged with Felony Theft and Conspiracy. Both subjects were released on unsecured bond and their court dates are pending.
One of the TV’s was recovered and the other was believed to have been sold.
