DSP News Release: Monday, June 29, 2009- Traffic Alert for Route 1
New Castle- The operator of the truck invovled in this crash was Nicholas Clingan, 23, of Ephrata, PA. He was operating an International truck. Mr. Clingan was traveling southbound on Route 1 when his vehicle encountered an unforseen mechanical problem. This caused the operator to lose control and the vehicle to overturn.
Mr. Clingan was transported to Christiana Hosptal for observation only and was deemed not injured.
The roadway opened back up for travel at approximately 5:30 p.m.
No citations were issued.

DSP News Release: Monday, June 29, 2009- Traffic Alert for Route 1
Location of Incident: Route 1 southbound, south of Route 273 in New Castle, Delaware
Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, June 29, 2009, at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Resume: State Troopers are currently on the scene of a single vehicle injury crash on Route 1 southbound, south of Route 273, in New Castle. This crash involves an overturned tractor trailer. RECOM, the State Police dispatch center in New Castle County, advises that both of the southbound lanes are closed at this time and traffic is being diverted onto Route 273. Motorists should seek alternative routes.
