UPDATE #1

The Crane crew has just lifted the caboose (second train which derailed) back onto the tracks and they are working on getting the locomotive (front train which derailed) back onto the tracks.

 

There is still no estimated time as to when Faulkland Road will be reopened.

 

All passengers have been transferred to another train and have been removed from the area.

 

An additional release will be sent when additional details are known and confirmed.

Original Release

 

Disabled Western Railroad Train Blocking Faulkland Road

 

Released-Sunday, June 21, 2009

 

Wilmington-Troop 6 Troopers are currently on the scene of a disabled Wilmington Western Railroad train in the area of Faulkland Road just west of Spice Mill Lane. 

 

The engine and an unoccupied passenger train derailed.

 

There are no injuries and the train is not damaged. 

 

Wilmington Western Railroad is making arrangements to transport the 150 passengers of the historical train ride from the disabled train to another train.

 

A crane is enroute to remove the disabled train.

 

Faulkland Road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.

 

An updated release will be sent when additional information is received and confirmed.
