Road Rage Leads to Felony Charges for a Wilmington Resident

 

Released-Sunday, June 21, 2009

 

Wilmington-Shortly before 3:30 p.m., Troop 1 Troopers responded to the area of I-95 southbound, south of Marsh Road for the report of a road rage incident. 

 

An investigation revealed that a 46 year old Wilmington resident was traveling southbound on I-95 in the left lane when he observed a subject, later identified as Dennis McGlone, 55, of Wilmington, traveling in the right lane “give him the finger as he passed”.  The victim then traveled onto the right shoulder and exchanged words with Mr. McGlone before driving past him, after which he observed Mr. McGlone, through his rearview mirror point a black handgun directly at his vehicle.

 

The victim was able to get the attention of a Trooper working in the area and reported that Mr. McGlone was in possession of a handgun. 

 

The trooper executed a vehicle stop, made contact Mr. McGlone and confirmed that he was in possession of the handgun and that he pointed same toward the victim’s vehicle.

 

Mr. McGlone was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 1.

 

Mr. McGlone was arraigned and formally charged with the following:

 

*Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

*Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)

*Aggravated Menacing (Felony)

 

Mr. McGlone was released on $6500.00 unsecured bond.

 

The victim and his passengers were not injured.
