DSP News Release: Thursday, June 11, 2009- Theft at 7-Eleven Probed

 

Location of Incident: 7-Eleven, 1501 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday, June 11, 2009, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

 

Suspect: black male, early 40’s, bald head, wearing a blue jogging outfit with a white t-shirt

 

Resume: At about 1:30 a.m. this morning, Troopers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven on North DuPont Highway for a hold up alarm. 

 

When officers arrived on the scene, they contacted the clerk.  He advised that just a few minutes earlier, a black male entered the store and attempted to purchase a gallon of water and two packs of Newport cigarettes using a debit card.  The debit transaction was declined.  The suspect then jumped the counter and removed cash from the register.  

 

The suspect ran out of the store and fled the scene in a tan vehicle. 

 

Surveillance video is not available at this time.
