DSP News Release: Thursday, June 11, 2009- Interstate Cooperation Nets Theft Suspect

 

Location of Incident: Unit block of Curry Court, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date of Occurrence: Thursday, June 11, 2009

 

Suspect(s): Justin Harrington, 18, of Curry Court in Wilmington, Delaware

 

Resume: Yesterday afternoon, Troop 2 Burglary detectives received a series of surveillance photographs from an Upper Chichester Police detective. The photos were of a suspect who was using a stolen credit card at the Concord Pike Exxon (Route 202 and Naamans Road) on June 8th.  The credit card was actually stolen on June 8th in a caper during which multiple cars were broken into in Upper Chichester.

 

Detectives here in Delaware immediately recognized the suspect in the photograph as Justin Harrington- having arrested him just 30 days prior for felony Theft and felony Receiving Stolen Property.

 

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Harrington’s residence.  They responded to his home earlier today and recovered a significant amount of stolen property which included: GPS devices, laptops, IPods and cigarettes.  Also, suspected marijuana packaged for sale was recovered in Harrington’s bedroom. 

 

Justin Harrington was transported back to Troop 1 where he was formally charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (felony), Unlawful Use of a Credit Card (felony), Receiving Stolen Property (misdemeanor) and Receiving Stolen Property (felony).  He was remanded to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of a $7,000.00 secured bond. 

 

Charges are expected to be filed in Pennsylvania in the days to come.
