DSP News Release: Tuesday, June 09, 2009- I-95 Service Plaza Robbery Probed

 

Location of Incident: Delaware Service Plaza, I-95, in Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Tuesday, June 09, 2009- at approximately 3:00 p.m.

 

Suspect(s): six to seven white males

 

Resume: Earlier today, Troopers responded to the Delaware Service Plaza for a reported robbery complaint. 

 

The victim in the case stated that he was at the south end of the service plaza working on his truck when he was approached by 6 to 7 white males.  He went on to say that one subject (described as a white male, 40 years old, with brown hair and beard) pointed a black semi automatic handgun in his face and demanded money. 

 

The victim complied with the robber’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the bandit.   The suspect walked away, northbound, through the plaza and out of sight.

 

The victim did not see the suspect enter a vehicle.  Also, he was not injured.
