DSP News Release: Monday, June 08, 2009- Robber Commits Street Level Robbery Donning Nylon Mask

 

Location of Incident: 3700 Block Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Saturday, June 6, 2009, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

 

Suspect(s): Black male, 5’08”, 180 – 200 pounds, average build, all dark clothing

 

Resume: Troopers from Troop 1 Penny Hill are investigating a street level robbery that occurred late Saturday night. 

 

This investigation revealed two 18-year-old male victims were walking along the 3700 block of Philadelphia Pike, adjacent to the catwalk over I-495, when they were approached by a male suspect donning a nylon mask.

 

The hooligan pointed a handgun at the victims and ordered them to the ground. The suspect then rifled through their pockets and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. 

 

The robber fled the scene on foot toward the Church of the Ascension in Claymont.
