DSP News Release: Monday, June 08, 2009- Morning Traffic Impacted in Rockland Crash

 

Location of Incident: Route 141 at West Park Place, Rockland, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, June 08, 2009, at approximately 7:42 a.m.

 

Resume:  The following narrative described a crash which occurred this morning on Route 141 at West Park Place.

 

A 2007 Chevrolet Impala (operated by William McClafferty, 81, of Wilmington, Delaware) was traveling southbound on West Park Place approaching a green light at Route 141.

 

A 1997 Mitsubishi box truck (operated by Harold Shrum, 36, of Manchester, PA) was traveling eastbound on the Route 141 spur approaching a red light at West Park Place. 

 

The box truck ran the red light and collided with the Chevrolet in the intersection.  The box truck then overturned.

 

Very minor injuries were reported at the scene.

 

Mr. Schrum was cited with Disregarding a Red Light. 

 

Traffic was impacted for approximately two hours.
