DSP News Release: Sunday, June 07, 2009- Multi Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic at Route 40 Intersection

 

Location of Incident: Route 40 and Route 896, Glasgow, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Sunday, June 7, 2009, at approximately 8:45 p.m.

 

Resume: Troopers are currently on the scene of a multi vehicle crash on Route 40 and Route 896 in Glasgow. 

 

This crash in complex and all of the details won’t be available until tomorrow, however, several non-life threatening injures have been reported.  This incident began when one vehicle made a left from Route 896 northbound to Route 40 westbound and into the path of another vehicle. 

 

Flying debris from the crash struck a stationary DSP cruiser in the intersection. 

 

Motorists are asked to stay clear of this area until approximately 10:30 p.m. so the scene can be cleared and the crash investigated. 

 

A more complete release will be provided tomorrow when the details of what happened are known and confirmed.
